I'm so happy today. Chiqui's text message really made my day. She congratulated me for winning A Peek Into Yesterday's Can You Believe this Weather Contest. The challenge is to document the unusual weather in your area/state.
Here is my winning entry entitled Devastated - Signal # 4:
Materials used: Basic Grey Sultry and Perhaps, DCWV cardstock, Provo Craft plain paper, American Crafts Thickers (vinyl and chipboard), Cherry Arte chipboard, MM Tiny Stickers, Maya Road chipboard and felt shapes (branches and bird), Autumn Leaves Bag-o-Buttons, 7 gypsies clip, Doodlebug Designs frills, bling, fibers
Journaling: Can you believe this weather? Typhoons are getting stonger and stonger in this part of the globe. In the past, the highest typhoon signal was 3 but now it's already Signal # 4. What's worst is that these typhoons occur even during summertime. Times have indeed changed so as the climate.
My prize is a $25 gift certificate to use at APIY. My LO will also be displayed at the homepage until the winner of their next contest is announced.

Dianne tagged me
Dianne tagged me with this:
What Scrapbooking Item are you? Go here to take the quiz.
My Result (same as Dianne's)
You are PAPER!
You are an all natural basic person who likes to act as a foundation to others. You are willing to take a backseat in most of your relationships and let others take the spotlight, while you show your support and help them shine! Underneath it all, you are the one who makes it all happen. You are the focus and stability in any group, even if you are not the leader. Others look to you to set the pace and provide ideas for ways to get things done. But Paper Beware - sometimes you get a little edgy with the people who look to you for support and can give them some papercut remarks that can hurt their feelings. Remember to watch what you say, because you are best when leading by example.
Don't forget to add the site where you posted your quiz and the scrapbooking item that describes you.
PLAYERS: THE SCRAPAHOLIC ME - stickers, A HANDFUL OF SURPRISES/MY PAPER SCRAPS - paper, MY JOURNEY TO THE WORLD OF SCRAPBOOKING - paper, ADD YOUR SITE AND SCRAPBOOKING ITEM.
I'm now passing on this tag to Issa, Chiqui, Rita, Helga, Liezl, Cors and Ytet.

Using your Scraps
Like any scrapbooker, I accumulate so many scraps from patterned papers and cardstocks. I usually sort them by color. There are times when I get to use these scraps but most often than not, I always start with a new set of papers.
For the LO below, I finally used up my scraps from Basic Grey Fushion pp's left from my "I am A Poem" layout. This is response to Beverly Todd's Use your Scraps Challenge, Day 22 of her 40 Days Event.
The LO:
The LO is entitled "Only Girl". The ones in the photo are my parents and myself.
Materials used: Bazzill Basics, Basic Grey Fusion pp's, ribbons, lace, buttons, Prima flowers, felt flower, Provo Craft alpha stickers, MM tiny stickers, Prima Say it in Crystals and mesh.
